Rise to Your Potential

You have the potential for greatness.

Do you see yourself as a prince or princess in the making? How about your family and friends? Your next-door neighbor? The homeless person down the street? The annoying colleague at work that you just can't seem to get along with? Do you think of these people as potential “royalty” in God's kingdom? God created the human race to exercise dominion over the created order - to rule with Him as co-regents of the physical realm. We are all potential princes and princesses.
In the world, we tend to judge by appearances. We are too easily impressed by human credentials and too quick to write off those who fail to measure up to our standards. God operates by a different standard. He judges not by appearance or by present condition but by potential .
Consider the apostles of Jesus. Judging from human standards, it would be hard to imagine a less likely group of people to be entrusted with God's work. Jesus called Andrew, Simon, James and John to be His disciples. These four fishermen were simple, earthy laborers - not the type most of us would think of as messengers of God's good news. Yet Jesus saw them as more than just fishermen. He saw them as “fishers of men.” And that is just what they became.
Matthew was a tax collector. As a “collaborator” with the hated Roman occupation government, he was considered a traitor by his own people. Jesus looked beyond who Matthew was and saw who he could become. As a disciple, Matthew went from writing tax accounts to writing a gospel account of Jesus.
When King Xerxes' emissaries went searching for a new queen they were not looking for perfection. No woman in the kingdom would be “ready-made” for the king's presence. They were looking for potential. They sought young maidens who could grow beyond their present circumstances and be made “fit for a king.”
In the same way, none of us are “fit” for the King. But He can make us “fit.” No matter who you are, where you have been or what you have done, you can still become the person God created you to be. He knows the potential that He has placed inside you. He stands ready to mold and shape you into that person—if you will let Him.
Don't settle for less than God's best for you. Let Him raise you to the level of the potential He has placed in you. Let Him prepare you for life in the palace.

pastor Paul yadao of Destiny ministries international

Pakistan, 4:00 am, March 1, 2007.

The plane landed in the International Airport of Karachi. There was a
mixture of anticipation and faith rising up deep inside of me as soon as
I stepped out of the plane. I knew I was in for a great spiritual
adventure. I’ve waited and prayed for this experience- this is it! I
rejoiced in my heart. It was a totally different spiritual environment
than I have ever been to but I have prepared for it. The place is a war
zone both politically and spiritually. It was indeed a great firsthand
experience of doing exploits for the King and His Kingdom. The
expectancy was so strong that despite the long travel from Manila, I
stayed awake throughout the flight until I reached the hotel where I
stayed for the whole duration of that life-changing Pakistan experience.

Leif woke me up in my room around 8 am. I joined the rest of the
team for breakfast. They arrived two days earlier. I found out that they
had some interesting experiences the day before in the marketplace of
Karachi. Their presence stirred a bit of suspicion among the people.
They decided to cut short on their tour of the city as a result of that.
We were extra cautious since then because of the security issues that
arose. This was part of the whole package of this spiritual adventure.
It’s exciting. Thank God I grew up in Mindanao where peace and order
situation most of the time is unpredictable.

It was a great blessing to know Doug, Mark and Pam- my teammates.
Tim Hatt of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Minnesota arrived later that day
to join us. Tim and I stayed in one room, which for me is a God-ordained
thing. Leif invited me to stay in his room for a couple of hours after
our breakfast to have a time of sharing. It was so inspiring just to
listen to all the testimonies he shared and the fresh revelations he’s
been receiving from our Father God. The team spent the whole day in
prayer preparing for the crusade that will start the following day and
the leaders’ conference the day after.

March 2. This is the day! Our prayers intensified as we experienced
spiritual oppression in different ways. Leif suffered from
sleeplessness, migraine and allergy. The spiritual warfare started to
escalate to a whole new level. Prophetic prayers were released. Thank
God for the prayer back-ups we received around the world. We received
prophetic words of God’s protection and the presence of His glory over
the crusade area. Later in the afternoon, Mulana, a key figure in
Pakistan arrived and stayed in the same hotel. I could not elaborate
more about his background and influence for security reasons. He
considers Leif as a friend and he graced the opening of the three-day
crusade by telling the crowd (about 5,000) on the first night that they
should listen to what Leif will be sharing for three nights.

The first night of the crusade went well after few glitches. One of
the power generators unexpectedly stopped during the early part of the
night. We waited for almost 30 minutes before it was fully restored.
Because of this, the event ended late and there was not enough time for
testimonies on healings that night. Nevertheless we praised God for the
breakthrough and all that happened that night.

The following day we felt greater warfare in the spirit. Leif looked
so tired with fever, flu and severe migraine early in the morning. We
asked our networks of intercessors to intensify their prayers. In the
midst of all the attacks, we experienced tremendous peace and a great
assurance that God is in control. Around 10 am we went to minister in
the leaders’ conference. I was given a time to preach on the
blessings of sonship. I shared my testimonies on the father-son
relationship my wife and I have with Leif. Leif came right before I
finished my part and then he shared about the Father’s love. God
moved mightily touching the pastors and workers with the baptism of His
love. It was a sight to see: the hunger, the desperation, the cry, and
the passion of the people of God for His touch. I was deeply moved
inside as I pondered at the spiritual blessings, we as a church in the
Philippines have been receiving and enjoying in greater measure, in
comparison to the measure of what the Body of Christ in Karachi have and
long to experience. I can’t help but pray within my heart for more
of God in my life and our church so that we can impart more to the
nations.

We experienced greater freedom in the spirit on the second night of
the crusade. The size of the crowd more than doubled. It was estimated
to be around 15,000 that night. The testimonies of healings spread out
and more came for healing, freedom from curse and demonic oppression.
God met them at the points of their needs. He healed them and touched
broken bodies and wounded hearts. Above all He showed His love and
saved those who received His invitation to enter His Kingdom. We felt
the awesome presence of God as tens of thousands signified their
decision to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. They waved their hands up
high and it looked, from the platform we were seated, like waves in a
vast ocean of humanity. Surely, the whole heavens rejoiced for those
whose names were written on the Lamb’s book of life on that very
moment. The digital shots of the crusades revealed the presence of a
cloud hovering just above the sea of people worshipping and praising the
Lord because of the salvation they received that night. It was heaven
coming down.

We sensed a major breakthrough in the spirit after the second night
of the crusade. We believed the tide has changed from us fighting it
off against demonic attacks to that of an offensive assault in the
spirit. We experienced a greater measure of open heavens over us.
Although Leif was still battling against fever and swollen throat the
following day, we knew there’s an explosion in the spirit that was
about to happen that day. The level of expectancy and faith catapulted
to greater heights.

The number of those who attended the Leaders’ Conference doubled on
the second day. There were about 450 who attended. It was an overflow
crowd. My heart was deeply touched to see them squeeze in to any
available space in the hall to sit down and listen to the word of God.
Many sat on rough cement floors and even on bare grounds outside the
hall just to listen and receive from God. There was an explosion in the
spirit that happened as Leif shared about the miracle in the house. He
exhorted the leaders to believe that there’s oil, there’s anointing
and miracle in their house. He shared that the secret of the anointing
is to look for empty vessels and pour the blessings of God to these
empty hearts. Afterwards, Leif prayed, by word of knowledge, for a man
with half of his body paralyzed because of stroke. The man fell under
the power of the Holy Spirit and was instantly healed. And then in an
instance, people flocked to the front for prayer of impartation and
healing. All of the team members ministered. We experienced tremendous
manifestations of healings that afternoon. Leif later testified that
everyone he prayed for in that meeting got healed. I myself prayed for
several people who testified of their instant healings right after the
prayer. But in the midst of these, my heart was so desperate for more
of Him so I could pour out more to them. I knew right there, that I
need to grow more in revelation, in anointing and the things of God to
be able to carry more of His presence and power. I realized that what I
have received so far is not sufficient to the needs around me that
moment. But I knew fully well that it is all about Him and not about me
and that He is always more than enough. I left that place of meeting
more desperate and hungry for more of God.

Later in the afternoon as we prepared for the last night of the
crusade, something happened within my heart during the time of
intercession. I felt as if a portion of the Father’s heart of
compassion for Pakistan had been given to me. I heard Him asking me if I
am willing to embrace Pakistan in my heart. I said yes as I sobbed and
cried for the lost and for the Body of Christ in Pakistan. All the
images I saw during the crusade and the Leaders’ Conference flashed
before my eyes. I never felt a cry that deep before in my entire life. I
have been transformed by His compassion.

The heavens opened wide on the last night of the crusade. Something
broke loose in the spirit. The team arrived in the place around 9:30 pm.
That time around 45,000 people were present. The band led the people in
praise. The moment we arrived, there was an explosion of praise to the
Lord. Doug, one of our teammates started to dance in the Lord. And
then suddenly a group of young men in the front area started to dance
too and ran towards the front of the stage. It was a glorious chaos. It
lasted for almost 20 minutes. It was a celebration, an extravagant
display of the joy of the Lord. That was phenomenal because as Leif
testified, in all of his trips to Pakistan within the period of 12
years, that kind of explosion of praise never ever happened before. He
said that even the Pakistani Christians do not express worship and
praise in that intensity. Everyone danced in the Lord. God came. That
night around 30,000 received the invitation of salvation. Tremendous
healings happened. To name a few: a young girl 14 yrs of age spoke for
the first time in her life and her first word was “Jesus”; another
young lady surrendered her talismans and instruments for black magic; a
woman paralyzed for 40 yrs walked for the first time; a man with
withered hands received a creative healing; a deaf girl instantly got
healed from deafness; countless healings occurred that night. Indeed,
how awesome and marvelous are His works!

Leif later informed me that a total of about 55,350 individuals
signified their commitment to the Lord throughout the crusade. They
received the follow up literature as they are now channeled to the
hundreds of house churches in Karachi. It was a great harvest! We give
all the glory to Him!

I have been transformed to the core. The vision has never been this
clear in my life. I believe this is also true for the whole Destiny.
Now, it makes sense to me, by revelation, the purposes of God for our
church. The revival that gave birth to Destiny that started as a
student movement in the early 1990’s, happened for an eternal purpose.
We are part of that army of God that will march into the nations, the
unreached peoples of the world to reveal and show forth His glory in all
the earth in this end times. Students who will have God-encounters
through our student movement, Students of Destiny (SOD), will be the
ones who will be equipped and empowered and be sent out as professionals
and postgraduate students to the nations to be sources of blessings and
to demonstrate the realities of the Kingdom of God. I see that, as a
church, this is our unique part in God’s Kingdom agenda and my heart
is in for this glorious quest- to raise, equip, empower, send and lead
an army of kingdom people (professionals, businessmen, professors,
architects, researches, etc.) who will influence their realms of
expertise and reveal the Kingdom wherever they are.

all Glory to God Forever!!!
